Voices of Change: Art Speaks

Alamogordo, NM –Otero Arts is pleased to present three fabric artists showing their innovative, interpretative fabric art quilts at the Artspace: Lee Ann Faring, Julie Swift, and Karen Watts. The exhibition “Voices of Change: Art Speaks” opens on Friday March 6th with a reception from 5-7pm at 1118 Indiana Avenue and 12th st. in Alamogordo.

According to Karen Watts, their quilts are a collective call to the conscience, using the power of visual art to confront the urgent challenges of our time – social justice, climate change, and human rights. The artists stated mission is to inspire awareness, spark dialogue and motivate action by creating a space where creativity meets advocacy and where art becomes a catalyst for a more just, sustainable and compassionate world.

The Otero Artspace gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 1 -4pm. Exhibit will close on March 29th.
